Hawker Siddeley Dynamics Engineering (HSDE) supplied gas turbine controls to several OEMs, including the DS128 Analogue Controller, which was the predecessor to DIGICON®. The DS128 was installed on the (Siemens) Ruston TA and TD series and the Centrax CS600 gas turbines.
HSDE then developed the first modern digital controller, and engineered and upgraded to the DIGICON Series Controllers 2, 3, and 1, before upgrading to the DIGICON ACE Controller. HSDE supplied the DIGICON controller to the following OEMs for their gas turbine models:
- Allison 501K (now Rolls-Royce)
- Nuovo Pignone PGT5 and PGT10 (now GE)
- Hispano Suiza 1304 and 1203 (now MAN GHH)
- Kawasaki CGT
HSDE was acquired by Vosper Thornycroft in the mid-1990s to form Vosper Thornycroft Controls (VT Controls).
