Training
HPI offers training courses to provide sufficient training to ensure customers fully understand system operations, configuration, and maintenance. Courses are tailored to each customers needs. Typically courses can be provided for engineering, system engineers, operations and maintenance staff are as follows:
- For Design and System Engineering
- For Control Technicians & System Engineers
- For Operators and System Engineers
Design and System Engineering
This course will be held prior a final technical review; its objective will be to prepare the users participants for participation in the review and assist the user’s plant engineering department in identifying electrical and constructional issues. During the course a detailed construction, operation and maintainability (COMS) walk through will be conducted, the output from which will provide input to the final technical review of the equipment.
Control Technicians and System Engineers
This course will be held in two parts. The first will be conducted prior to installation as an introduction to the new equipment; its objective will be to prepare all participants for participation in the testing and commissioning phase. The second half will be held after installation and prior to commissioning. During this portion of the course participants will be given hands on training in programming, calibration, troubleshooting and testing.
Operators and Maintenance Engineers
This course will be held during the commissioning and testing phase, this will cover an overview of the system, a detailed review of all functional differences to the old system, if a retrofit, and a detailed review of the operational procedures for all modes and all plant interfaces. This course will also include coverage of maintenance and diagnostic procedures. In addition a review of all alarms and trips including required actions and reset procedures will be undertaken. The course will include “hands-on” training at the control panel.
Training manuals for all course participants will be provided; they will detail all course material and references. The customer will be provided rights to reproduce the training material for future internal training programs. Documentation will be available prior to release for service of the first system.
