Steam Turbine Controls
HPI personnel have successfully performed upgrades to Steam Turbine controls. We have completed projects on a variety of turbines from several OEM’s and are aware of the unique control requirements for these turbine types. Furthermore, our personnel can enhance the performance of the installed base by upgrading key components such as extraction valves, hydraulic safety blocks, and main steam valves if the customer requests. We can also increase the diagnostic capability of older model turbines by installing additional field devices in critical points of the steam cycle and integrating them to the new control system.
The HPI controller can be configured to run diagnostic programs, which acts like a semi 'expert system' for detecting and predicting problems. Where planned maintenance can eliminate a majority of unpredictable shutdowns, this tool offers both savings and convenience.
The HPI solution includes integration of preventative diagnostic programs and Low Cycle Fatigue calculations. On-demand or frequency reporting can be generated to engineering and maintenance personnel. The organized ability to access this intelligence across the fleet of turbines will drastically reduce the cost of unscheduled outages and repairs.
