Woodward Netcon 5000™ Replacement Unit
The HPI RNU™ is the replacement system for the Woodward NetCon® unit and is designed as a "plug and play" direct replacement for the existing Woodward range of NetCon controllers. The new controller utilizes the latest Allen Bradley Logix PLC system. The equipment is mounted in an enclosure with the same dimensions as the existing NetCon controller.
The use of the Allen Bradley Logix PLC platform system provides the end user with the benefits of a commercially off the shelf third party system, while still meeting the performance and functional requirements of the original NetCon controller.

The replacement controller has the same J plug arrangement on the back as the NetCon and therefore can be fitted directly in place of these existing controllers without the need for any significant rewiring of the existing control system. The user interface to the module is provided by a Touch Screen Allen Bradley Color Panelview Plus, HMI. The use of a Panelview Plus allows the new controller to provide additional functionality such as:
- Graphical Representation of Data
- Alarm History
- Trending (Real Time & Historical)
- User Configurable Parameters (Timers & Set-points)
The new controller provides Modbus RTU communications to allow it to interface to existing equipment. In addition an Ethernet TCP/IP interface is provided allowing the user to interface the equipment to a LAN or WAN, SCADA or other diagnostic and control equipment.
