Digicon® Control Replacement
The HPI replacement DIGICON® Unit (RDU™) is designed as a 'plug and play' direct replacement for the existing HSDE range of DIGICON controllers. The new controller utilizes the latest Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLC system. The equipment is mounted into an enclosure with the same dimensions as the existing HSDE controller and expanders.
The use of the Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLC system provides the end user with the benefits of a commercially off the shelf third party system, while still meeting the performance and functional requirements of the original DIGICON controller.

Features of the RDU- DIGICON replacement system:
- Accommodates the different DIGICON marquees (Series 1, 2 and 3)
- Replacement controller has the same J plugs and D fittings arrangement on the back as the DIGICON Series 1 and 2, and therefore can be fitted directly in place of these existing controllers without the need for any significant rewiring of the existing control system
- Series 3 systems are accommodated by employing a cable adapter harness. This harness may not be the same for each application and therefore costs may vary slightly.
User-friendly Interface
The user interface can be provided by a Touch Screen Allen-Bradley Color Panelview Plus, HMI. The use of a Panelview Plus allows the new controller to provide additional functionality such as:
- Graphical Representation of Data
- Alarm History
- Trending (Real Time & Historical)
- User Configurable Parameters (Timers & Set-points)
The new controller provides Modbus RTU communications to allow it to interface to existing equipment. In addition an Ethernet TCP/IP interface is provided allowing the user to interface the equipment to a LAN or WAN, SCADA or other diagnostic and control equipment.
