HPI CEO Named Finalist for EY 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year Award
HPI CEO, Harold “Hal” Pontez, may soon have another achievement to add to his resume- “Entrepreneur of the Year”. Earlier this month the CEO of one of the turbomachinery industry’s leading providers for customized turbine solutions was named as a finalist for Ernst & Young’s 2014 Gulf Coast Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Recognized for 28 years as one of the most prestigious business awards programs in the country, the EY Entrepreneur of the Year™ Awards honor those that have built market leading companies that make communities, countries and the world a better place.
Nominees are judged upon their inherent abilities to create new products and services, their abilities to transform organizations, how they have enriched the lives of others through their work, and how they contribute to the vibrancy of both regional and national economics.
If selected, Pontez would join the ranks of a host of noted award recipients including: Founder and CEO of Dell, Inc., Michael Dell, Linked In CEO and co-founders, Jeff Weiner and Reid Hoffman, Google co-founders, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz and former Southwest Airlines CEO, Herb Kelleher.
“I am delighted to be considered for this honor, especially in the tradition of such an accomplished group of entrepreneurs. This nomination should not solely be a reflection of me, but also of our amazing staff, clients and partners for their continued contributions to HPI’s success,” Pontez explains.
The awards are held in more than 140 cities in 50 countries around the world. The Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for the Gulf Coast region will be presented on June 26, 2014 at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Houston.
Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the national EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 15, 2014. The awards are the culminating event of the EY Strategic Growth Forum, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
